PUBLISHER and RETAIL UPDATE

We are doing our best to expand our reach in to various comic shops. We are proud to announce that as of April 28, 2021, Happy Day Comics, LLC in Hammond, IN is now a retailer for Guerrilla Publishing. At the moment, Happy Day Comics has a very limited amount of various titles from us. As always please make sure to support your local comic shop!!!

In other news, via social media, Julio A. Guerra announced that he will be joining Tales from the Cryptic Closet 3. The post features the Cryptic Creeper shaking hands with his dear old friend Deathbag, which can only mean that Deathbag will be in a story in the upcoming horror anthology. Tales from the Cryptic Closet 3 will feature the talents of Rafael Nieves (Marvel), Bill Halliar (Moonstone), Ashley Esper (Skulls & Sketches), Adam Farster (Guerrilla Publishing), Matthew Skillern (Skillful Studios), Nathan Erdel (Gentleman Monster Productions), and Julio A. Guerra (Guerrilla Publishing). A kickstarter campaign for this set for a summer 2021 release.

As always make sure to tune in every Monday and Friday for new pages of Adam Farster’s Dark Echo: Side Quest.

4-21-21 Update

PUBLISHER UPDATE

Deathbag Revenge of the Scythe is all written out and now entering the editing stages. Ashely Esper is currently wrapping up her pages for the book and Julio A. Guerra will begin his art pages once an editing is complete. “We are moving on this pretty quick.”-Julio A. Guerra (Deathbag creator). The upcoming installment of the Deathbag series will feature an origin of new character Dirtbag and a more serious tone. However, the other stories in the book will feature the all ages dark humor we all come to love. Also the book will feature a pin-up from a very special number one fan of Deathbag. Again, a kickstarter campaign will be launched very soon for this title.

Every Monday and Friday, make sure to come back and read Adam Farsters’ Dark Ecko. This is currently the only way to read the latest project from the Humalien creator. We would like to thank you all who have been visiting the site on these days to read the pages.

Saving the best for last, we would like to officially make the first con announcement for 2021. We will be in the small press area for…..C2E2 in December of 2021. The boys are excited to come to the Chicagoland area after a year of chaos. Make sure to visit the newsfeed as we will announce more cons and instore dates, like where we will be at for Free Comic Book Day in August 2021.

PUBLISHER UPDATE

We would like to officially announce that the next installment of The Last Unicorn by Jack Gonzalez, will be joining the Guerrilla Publishing lineup. Jack has many published works being a creator in the anthology Lush, Tales from the Cryptic Closet 2 and on his own creator books Pins and Needs and The Last Unicorn.

The saga continues this year. Jack has been hard at work on this book and we are excited to help bringing everyones favorite Unicorn’s next adventure to print. Be on the lookout for updates of when a kickstater will launch for Jack Gonzalez’s The Last Unicorn.

3-30-21 Update

PUBLISHER UPDATE

Eariler today (3-30-21), Adam Farster (Humalien) posted on a teaser for Dark Echo his instagram account (click here) This Dungeons and Dragons style comic made it’s debut at C2E2 2020 in the form of a show exclusive ashcan with a line of people trying to get their copy. The quest will begin later this year.

Pro Wrestling Is An Art: A Pro Wrestling Sketchbook is currently in pre-production. Julio A. Guerra (The Misadventures of Deathbag) is collecting his various arts from pieces he did for prints he would sell at shows, character studies for Botched (Guerrilla Publishing) and Lucha Legends (Lexographic Press), along with concepts for used and unused designs for Prowrestlingtees.com Expect to lockup with a kickstarter for this title later this year.

Ralphs Vol.3, the mischief loving dogs will make their return. Series creator Ashley Esper is currently hard at work with the sequel to 2020’s Ralphs Vol. 2. Last year’s issue left us with a cliffhanger and readers are excited to see what’s next for the doggos. Get ready to share a bone when a kickstarter launches later this year.

Tales from the Cryptic Closet 3 is also currently in pre-production. Ben Miller (Editor) is currently working on getting the creative teams together for this marvelous horror filled anthology. Just like Tales from the Cryptic Closet 2 this will feature some returns and some new names. As of this writing Bill Halliar will be returning as cover artist and will be a featured artist on a story. Follow the Cryptic Creeper through the doors of a kickstarter this summer.

COMIC UPDATE: The Epic Misadventures of Deathbag: Return of the Scythe

In 2020, Co-Founder Julio A. Guerra shared that a new Deathbag issue would be in the works. In that same post, he revealed the title of the new issue Return of the Scythe. With that, some new creative faces would be joining in with creating some new stories. Ashely Esper (Ralphs) will be drawing a story penned by Julio and the Three Y’s Men (Motor City Mo) will be writing a story with Julio doing the art. As of this writing we can now confirm that Dirtbag (character teased at the end of Holier Than Thou) will have an origin story in upcoming issue.

“The Dirtbag story will be split in two parts. However, both parts will be in the same issue. They will be split by the stories that Ashley and the Three Y’s Men are working on. Like Archie digest style.” -Julio

The issue is slated for a 2021 kickster release. As of now two of the four stories have been written, with the first part of the Dirtbag origin currently in the works.

Currently, the book has been sold out at Screaming Monkey Comics (Dyer,IN). However, the book is still available at Creative Comics (both Indiana Locations), First Aid Comics, Graham Cracker Comics (West Loop Location), Challengers Comics, and Chicago Comics.
